BIOGRAPHY
Me=U is a dynamic musical troupe of musicians, filmmakers, poets, and revolutionaries, crafting a unique blend of tight, funk-rock grooves and inspirational, thought-provoking lyrics. Since the end of lockdown, they’ve been energising South London’s music scene with their electrifying performances. Fronted by charismatic beat poet and storyteller Patrick Lyons, the band features Brian Henderson on drums, Cieron Carter on bass, and Rufus Miller on electric guitar. Together, they create a sonic experience that transcends genres, combining music and poetry in a powerful celebration of art, activism and love.

Led by renowned beat poet and raconteur Patrick Lyons, the band is a powerhouse of talent. Brian Henderson, a seasoned drummer from Portsmouth, Virginia via LA, has lent his skills to acts like Spain, London World Wide Collab, and Ucef. On bass is Cieron Carter, while former Sting guitarist Rufus Miller brings his expertise to the electric guitar. Together, they craft a sound that is as engaging as it is revolutionary.
Patrick Lyons is a well-known figure in London’s underground music scene. His radio show and live music night, Ph7 – The Neutral Zone, has championed acts like Breton, Fat White Family, King Krule, Meatraffle, Fat Dog and Warmduscher, offering a platform to some of the most exciting voices in the industry. With Me=U, Lyons and his bandmates continue this tradition of boundary-pushing artistry, combining music, poetry, and performance in a way that captivates audiences and challenges the status quo.

Blue Temper is the debut album of Patrick Lyons. The album explores the sounds of Americana with tracks such as the anti-War song Jonie and Acre Lane Nights co- lyricist, the prolific Manu Chao. Sarah Bear/Josh E Junglist on – Slum Planet – Whilst also exploring the experimental electronica of ‘The Thing’ the apocalyptic comment on the Thing ‘two and half seconds to midnight’ the nuclear threat and the effects of global warming.
